Adhispurishvarar Temple

Situated in Thiruvotriyur, It is an ancient Saiva temple of the 8th century , it was built by the Rajendra I of the Chola emperor. It is one of the finest examples of Chola temple art. It has group of small temples stand in the temple courtyard.

It has an beautiful Thyagaraja Shrine. Vimana is in apsidal form in this temple as this type of style differs from the other Type and it was an popular feature of the Chola archtecture.

It has Durga Devi on the northern side of the main shrine, and also kannagi, the heroine of the Silappadikkaram a great Tamil epic.
